We have gotten used to Fedora not making the deadline, so it wasn't surprising when the delay announcement came for Fedora 18 Beta.

Dubbed Spherical Cow, Fedora 18 is powered by a development release of the upcoming Linux kernel 3.6 and brings numerous features, improvements and bug fixes over previous releases.

In a post on the official Fedora mailing list, Jaroslav Reznik stated that the upcoming Fedora 18 Beta would be postponed for another week.

“FESCo, in cooperation with Fedora QA and Fedora Program Manager, decided to push back Fedora 18 Beta Change Deadline by one week due to unfinished/non testable functionality required for the Beta release,” said Reznik.

In the meantime, you can download Fedora 18 Alpha right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is an alpha release and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended to be used for testing purposes only.
