Paul Whalen was proud to announce last week that the stable version of the ARM edition of the Fedora 18 (Spherical Cow) operating system was made available for download.

Distributable as ARMhf (hard-float) and ARM editions, the Fedora 18 ARM operating system includes prebuilt images for the Trimslice (Tegra), Versatile Express (QEMU), Pandaboard (OMAP4), Beagleboard (OMAP3) and GuruPlug (Kirkwood) hardware platforms.

“Fedora 18 for ARM also includes an installation tree in the yum repository which may be used to PXE-boot a kickstart-based installation on systems that support this option, such as the Calxeda EnergyCore (HighBank),” Paul Whalen said in the official release announcement.

Dubbed Spherical Cow, the Fedora 18 operating system contains various up-to-date package, new features and enhancements, among which we can mention an improved Anaconda installer, the GNOME 3.6 desktop environment, as well as the lightweight Xfce 4.10 and MATE desktops.
