After we've announced the second wave to features for the upcoming Fedora 17 (Beefy Miracle) Linux operating system last week, today we are proud to introduce a third wave.

Among the highlights of Fedora 17 we can mention GNOME 3.4, The GIMP 2.8, GCC 4.7, Btrfs filesystem, Thin provisioning, PackageKit and systemd integration, and much more.

On the Fedora Engineering Steering Committee (FESCo) meeting that took place yesterday, January 16th, the developers approved even more features for the Fedora 17 release, as follows:

· KDE Software Compilation 4.8; · OpenNebula data center virtualization management toolkit; · SSSD AutoFS integration; · SSSD-sudo integration; · Sugar Learning Environment 0.96.

The development cycle of Fedora 17 will have an Alpha and a Beta release. The final version will be released sometime in May or June 2012. Also see the official release schedule for Fedora 17 (Beefy Miracle).
