ExTiX 13 (131109) 64-bit, a distribution based on the recently launched operating system from Canonical, Ubuntu 13.10 (Saucy Salamander), has been officially released.

The developer has rebased the distribution on a newer Ubuntu, 13.10 (Saucy Salamander), which was launched just a few weeks ago.

The main difference from Ubuntu 13.10 is the fact that ExTiX 13 (131109) is using GNOME 3.10 instead of GNOME 3.8 as the default desktop environment.

The Linux kernel has also been changed, from the default 3.11 version developed by Canonical to a more recent one, 3.12.0-2-exton, made by the creator of the distribution. Users can also choose to install the latest proprietary Nvidia drivers from the official repositories.
