Euro Truck Simulator 2, a game developed by SCS Software, has just entered open beta on Steam for Linux.

In Euro Truck Simulator 2, players will be able to travel across Europe, as a trucker, and deliver important and sensible cargo in the UK, Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Poland.

Users have to keep in mind that this is not a free version. A purchased version is required to access the Steam for Linux Beta.

The developers also detailed the necessary steps needed to access the Beta program:

• In the Steam client open the ETS2 properties screen and navigate to the “Betas” tab. • Select the linux_testing beta. • The Linux binaries will start to download.

“The game works reasonably well on native NVidia drivers. There are some reports of flickering artifacts on ATI drivers. Older MESA versions are a problem, freshest MESA looks promising still with some serious artifacts, though,” reads the announcement on the official SCS Software blog.

More details about Euro Truck Simulator 2 can be found on the Steam website.
