A couple of days after the announcement of the first Beta release of the forthcoming GNOME 3.16 desktop environment, the Epiphany web browser arrives with a Beta version for its upcoming 3.16 release, which will be distributed alongside the highly anticipated graphical environment.

Epiphany 3.16 Beta includes a handful of improvements and new features, among which we can mention the ability to allow access to the address bar in the application mode, support for handling notification permissions, the addition of a new Incognito Window desktop action, and changing of locale no longer drops the search engine.

Furthermore, a speaker icon is now displayed in tabs when audio streams are detected, so you can easily identify websites that make noises, a network error page is now displayed on TLS (Transport Layer Security) errors, the cache size preference has been removed, and cookies policy values have been fixed.

The first Beta of Epiphany 3.16 also fixes various memory leaks, user interface issues, and segfaults. The internal code has been improved, several translations have been updated, and the internal Help component was also updated. Download Epiphany 3.16 Beta right now from Softpedia, while keeping in mind that it’s an unstable version that shouldn’t be installed on production machines.
