Edubuntu may not be as well-known as Ubuntu, but it's still an important product from Canonical and it has just reached version 13.10, along with Kubuntu and Xubuntu. We have prepared a screenshot tour for this distribution as well.

Edubuntu 13.10 (Saucy Salamander) will benefit from the same nine months of support, just like all the other releases in the series.

According to the developers, Edubuntu 13.10 is mostly a refresh on Edubuntu 13.04 without any significant changes to the package selection.

The distribution features Unity 7.1.2, LibreOffice 4.1.2, Mozilla Firefox 24.0, Mozilla Thunderbird 24.0, Linux kernel 3.11, Upstart 1.10, and Python 3.3.2. All in all, if you have Edubuntu 13.04 installed, you should upgrade as soon as possible.

If you have the latest LTS release, you might consider waiting another six months until a new LTS is launched.

A complete list of changes and improvements can be found in the official announcement. Download Edubuntu 13.10 (Saucy Salamander) right now from Softpedia.
