Edubuntu may not be as well known as Ubuntu, but it's still an important product from Canonical and has just reached version 12.10 Alpha 1, along with Kubuntu, Ubuntu, and Ubuntu Server.

Unlike other distributions from Canonical, the first Alpha version of Edubuntu 12.10 actually brings some interesting stuff.

Edubuntu 12.10 Alpha 1 (Quantal Quetzal) now includes Gnote, Klettres, KAlgebra, KGeography, Cantor, and Rocs. Also, Stellarium has been removed and replaced with KStars.

Other modification includes moving the language packs to the DVD pool instead of the live environment, and a shorter installation process.

Download Edubuntu 12.10 Alpha 1 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is an alpha version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
