The Edubuntu 12.04.4 LTS operating system has been made available along with the other distributions that chose to have another point release, such as Kubuntu and Xubuntu.

Unlike the previous Edubuntu point release in the 12.04 branch, which saw the removal of all Java packages, the new version is far less interesting, but it does share the Ubuntu base, which means that it also comes with the Linux kernel from the Saucy enablement stack, 3.11.

“The point release includes all the bug fixes and improvements that have been applied to Edubuntu 12.04 LTS since it has been released. It also includes updated hardware support and installer fixes,” reads the announcement from the Edubuntu development team.

This being said, if you already have the distribution installed and you perform regular updates, you won't have to do anything special in order to get the latest point release.
