David King announced on April 19 the immediate availability for download and testing of EasyTAG 2.3.6, one of the best open-source audio tag editor applications for MP3, FLAC, and Ogg Vorbis files, supported under GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows computer operating systems.

According to the raw changelog, EasyTAG 2.3.6 fixes renaming of files in the scanner, improves various UI (User Interface) strings, enhances the minimum size of log area, introduces several comments for translators, and removes the quit confirmation dialog.

Moreover, the new maintenance release of EasyTAG 2.3 adds Ekaterina Gerasimova's symbolic application icon, removes the setting for controlling the maximum number of log lines, improves various internal string-handling functions and Mallard help.

Under the hood, we can notice that EasyTAG 2.3.6 adds a test for the file renaming code, improves the internal file list code, as well as multiple internal string-handling functions, and fixes compiler warnings that occurred when disabling tag support.
