The Linux platform will get the game along with Windows

Techland is preparing to launch Dying Light, a new FPS with amazing graphics and hordes of zombies. The developer has revealed that it will also have a Linux version, right from the start.

Dying Light is what users like to call a triple A title and the Linux platform can't get enough of them. These games are usually titles that have a lot of money and time invested in them, and the end result is a great engine, graphics, and if we're lucky, also a good story. It's still too early to say whether Dying Light will be a winner, but the fact that it's ready to be launched on Linux from the start is a good thing.

"Dying Light is coming soon to SteamOS/Linux and Windows! Pre-Purchase Now to receive the exclusive 'Punk Queen' in-game weapon and start your pre-load now so you're ready to play right at launch! Dying Light is an action survival game presented in first-person perspective. The game is set in a vast and dangerous open world," wrote the developers (and publishers) in a Steam announcement.

We wrote a few days ago that the game was spotted in the Steam database. It usually takes much longer to confirm the Linux port and that port usually lands after the Windows release, but not now. Make sure to check our initial report and enjoy the screenshots and trailer!
