The Dreamlinux 5.0 operating system has been released on January 1st, and it is based on the Debian 7 Wheezy distribution.

Being powered by Linux Kernel 3.1, it provides a featureful Xfce 4.8 desktop environment, and the powerful Softmaker office suite, which includes Planmaker, Presentations and Textmaker components but also provides Microsoft Office documents compatibility.

Among other applications included in Dreamlinux 5.0 we can mentin the Chromium web browser, SMPlayer media player (including all the necessary multimedia codecs), InkScape SVG graphics editor, The GIMP image editor, Imagination DVD Slideshow Maker, Shotwell Photo Manager, Ristretto image visualizer, FoxitReader PDF viewer.

The in-house, easy-to-use, simple, really fast, two-steps graphic installer provides a 5 minutes install of Dreamlinux 5.0, and the MKDistro, in-house CLI distro builder software allows to build Dreamlinux or Debian derivatives.
