Linus Torvalds announced on August 18 that the sixth Release Candidate of the upcoming Linux 3.11 kernel is now available for download and testing.

Linux kernel 3.11 RC6 comprises updated network drivers, USB, sound, various filesystem fixes, x86, ARM and m68k updates.

The next Release Candidate version of the upcoming Linux kernel 3.11 will be made available for download and testing on August 25, 2013, just in time to celebrate Linux's 22nd birthday.

"I'll try to remember to do some more interesting/relevant statistics for the rc7 release, because that should coincide with the 22nd anniversary of the original Linux announcement on comp.os.minix."

"How time flies when you're having fun..," Linus Torvalds said in the official announcement. Download Linux kernel 3.11 RC6 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
