The Ubuntu Touch platform is preparing for its release in December and it really needs a powerful ecosystem of apps to succeed. A Canonical representative has revealed just how fast a developer can submit an application to the store and how fast it will be available for download.

Along with the Ubuntu Touch operating system, Canonical has also released the Ubuntu SDK, and developers can now use it to build packages for the mobile platform. They’ve also created a special format for those packages, called click, which ensures that the apps have all the necessary components in one place.

Alan Pope, engineering manager in Product Strategy for Canonical, has made a remark on Google+ that exemplified just how easy it has become to submit something to the Ubuntu Store for the mobile platform. "Just submitted a simple app to the #ubuntu click store. It was approved and published in under 60s. Sweet, sweet robots doing my bidding."

This has to be the fastest submission process for a mobile platform, but it's also very safe for the end user. Developers can submit their apps fast because they run under strict rules and can access only their own private directory and features that the user allows them to use. This means that it's not necessary for someone to look at every app that's being submitted to the store and the entire process is much smoother.

The Ubuntu Touch operating system is still under development. The first phone with this OS is said to be launched in December and we already have a review for it on Softpedia.
