After hundreds of Photoshop layers, a beautiful Ubuntu concept was born

A designer has created an Ubuntu desktop concept that looks amazing and that is probably better than anything you've seen as a desktop environment until now.

This Ubuntu concept built by the German artist Riho Kroll is years away from ever being built, if ever. Besides the quality of its work, which leaves no doubt about his professionalism, the concept itself shows us an Ubuntu that could capture most of the Linux audience, if it would ever adopt such a look.

Unity is a very good desktop environment and despite the resistance it encountered after the initial launch, the users have accepted it and they are just beginning to use it at its full potential with the 13.10 release.

This doesn't mean that there is no room for improvement. Even if we’ll probably never see such concept materialized on Ubuntu, or on any other distribution for that matter, the project shows us that Linux desktops still have a long way to go and that there is much work to be done in this department.

We split the images for a better viewing, but you can also go to the artist’s webpage to get more details. Before you ask, we have to specify that everything you seen are just hundreds of Photoshop layers put together to make the Ubuntu Concept Design and not something you can download and install.
