Clonezilla Live is a Linux OS that can be used by users for backup and regular system maintenance. It's based on DRBL, Partclone, and udpcast and a number of other packages. A new version of the distro has been released and is now available for download.

Clonezilla usually goes through a number of updates before a new stable version is pushed out the door, which usually gathers a lot of changes and various improvements. Not all of the new releases are impressive, but this latest one might turn some head as the developers have finally adopted systemd.

"The underlying GNU/Linux operating system was upgraded. This release is based on the Debian Sid repository (as of 2015/Jun/08). The Linux kernel was updated to 4.0.2-1. The default union file system has been changed to overlay, therefore if you edit boot parameter manually, you have to use 'union=overlay'. No more using 'union=aufs'," reads the official announcement.

Also, according to the changelog, systemd is now being used instead of sysvinit, Partclone has been updated to version 0.2.78.drbl1, Syslinux 6.03+dfsg-7 has been implemented by defaultAWS S3, and OpenStack Swift resource have been added in the image repositories list, and numerous other changes have been made.

A complete list of changes, improvements, and fixes can be found in the official announcement. You can download Clonezilla Live 2.3.1-15 right now from Softpedia.
