On June 2, Steven Shiau announced the immediate availability for download and testing of yet another milestone towards the next major version of his popular Clonezilla Live CD that helps you with disk cloning/imaging operations.

Clonezilla Live 2.4.2-7 includes all the updated packages from the upstream Debian Sid repository as of June 2, 2015. It also updates the DRBL (Diskless Remote Boot in Linux) package to version 3.16.10-drbl1.

Moreover, the new unstable snapshot fixes a bug in the sfidsk package, which affects version 2.26 or higher. Apparently, sfidsk didn't support the -C, -S, and -H command-line arguments. The bug was reported by Matt Ross.

"The underlying GNU/Linux operating system was upgraded. This release is based on the Debian Sid repository (as of 2015/Jun/02)," says Steven Shiau. "Package drbl was upadted to 2.15.13-drbl1, and clonezill was updated to 3.16.10-drbl1."

Last but not least, the Spanish, Italian, Slovak, Catalan, French, and German languages were updated in Clonezilla Live 2.4.2-7, thanks to Juan Ramón Martínez, Gianfranco Gentili, Ondrej Dzivy Balucha, René Mérou, Jean-Francois Nifenecker, and Michael Vinzenz.

As expected, those of you who want to test the new development version can download Clonezilla Live 2.4.2-7 right now via Softpedia. However, please try to keep in mind that this is a pre-release version and it is not suitable for use in production environments.
