Steven Shiau announced on April 14 the immediate availability for download and testing of a new development version of his Clonezilla Live operating system, version 2.4.1-6.

Being designed for system administrators who want a portable, straightforward, and easy-to-use solution for cloning disk drives, Clonezilla Live is a small distribution that basically allows you to run disk imaging operations on any computer platform.

According to the release notes, Clonezilla Live 2.4.1-6 is based on the latest upstream Debian Sid software repositories as of April 13, 2015, and includes a number of bugfixes and improvements over the previous version.

"The underlying GNU/Linux operating system was upgraded," says Steven Shiau in the release announcement for Clonezilla Live 2.4.1-6. "This release is based on the Debian Sid repository (as of 2015/Apr/13)."

The new Clonezilla Live 2.4.1-6 distribution includes various updated core components, such as partclone 0.2.78, gdisk 1.0.0, and ecryptfs-utils 107. Thanks to Abdullayev Natiq, an issue has been fixed when imaging a partition that was bigger than 16TB.

You can download Clonezilla Live 2.4.1-6 right now from Softpedia, but please keep in mind that the operating system is still in development, which means that it might contain unresolved issues. It is not suitable for use in production environments.
