14 DAY TRIAL // Clonezilla Live 2.2.3-4, a Linux distribution based on DRBL, Partclone, and udpcast that allows users to do bare metal backup and recovery, is now ready for testing and download.
The Clonezilla developers released a new development version for their Linux distro and they've decided to also cool down with the version numbering. The last build before the current one was labeled 2.2.3-39, but that evolved to 2.2.3-4, which is much more user-friendly.
"The underlying GNU/Linux operating system was upgraded. This release is based on the Debian Sid repository, as of April 28, 2014," reads the official announcement.
According to the changelog live-boot has been upgraded to 4.x because live-getty was not working. Also, when the distribution is now in restoreparts mode, the "-t" option should be set by default (drbl-functions).
Clonezilla Live is a Linux distribution that does only one thing: bare metal backup and recovery. It's very similar to other, older pieces of cloning software, such as True Image or Norton Ghost.
