Civilization: Beyond Earth is the latest game in the Civilization series developed by Firaxis and its makers have announced that a new expansion pack called Rising Tide is in the works. Even better, Aspyr Media will release it for Linux in autumn for the Linux platform.

Civilization: Beyond Earth has been released for Linux only a couple of months after the official Windows version was made available. The guys from Aspyr Media have done a great job at porting the game for the Linux users, and they will also take care of the upcoming Rising Tide expansion pack.

"Created by Firaxis Games and published to the Mac and Linux by Aspyr Media, Rising Tide will enhance the Beyond Earth experience by adding a variety of new gameplay capabilities and providing near limitless ways for players to create a new future for humanity on an alien planet. The expansion pack is currently scheduled for release in autumn 2015," the devs from Aspyr Media wrote.

Rising Tide brings some new factions, new upgrading traits, new diplomatic traits, hybrid Affinity units, a new Artifact System that unlocks powerful benefits, and two new biomes. As you can imagine, the new DLC will also land with a ton of smaller fixes and improvements that will be detailed at launch.
