Only one issue has been fixed in this Cinnamon release

Clemenent Lefebvre published today, April 9, a new maintenance release of the stable 2.4 branch of the acclaimed Cinnamon desktop environment used in numerous distributions of GNU/Linux, including Linux Mint.

Cinnamon 2.4.8 is the eighth point release of the desktop environment. It is a tiny update that fixes only one bug, reverting the "st: Use a more up-to-date cogl API when creating textures" change introduced in the previous version of the software, 2.4.7.

The urgency of the Cinnamon 2.4.8 update has been classified as a medium, which means that you will have to update as soon as the package arrives in the default software repositories of your GNU/Linux operating system.

Because Cinnamon 2.4.8 has just been released, you won't be able to update unless you download the source code and compile it yourself, but that will be a job for skilled Linux users. Normal people should wait for the update to become live in their distributions.

Cinnamon is an open-source desktop environment forked from the GNOME Shell user interface of the GNOME Project and designed from the ground up to provide users with a modern, highly customizable, and traditional desktop interface that is both responsive and lightweight.
