Choice of Robots is a new text-based interactive novel developed and published on Steam for Linux by Choice of Games. The game consists entirely of text, so you should really be sure you know what you're buying before committing to it.

There are very few text-based adventures released in today's market and Choice of Robots is one of them. Players actually get what's called an interactive novel, which is also characterized as CYOA game (Choose Your Own Adventure), but that's just semantics.

"The robots you design will change the world! Will you show them the true meaning of love, or conquer Alaska with your robot army? Choice of Robots is an epic 300,000-word interactive sci-fi novel by Kevin Gold, where your choices control the story. It's entirely text-based—without graphics or sound effects—and fuelled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination," reads the Steam synopsis.

Other text-based adventure games are built more like puzzles, but Choice of Robots is about making the right choices. Depending on the path you take in the book (no wrong or right), you can take part in a robot uprising or you can stop one, you can teach your robots about love or hate, and much, much more. In fact, the number of important choices in the book ensures that you will definitely start reading / play it again just to see the ramifications of your decisions.

The game comes with a 41% discount that is scheduled to end January 2. There is even a demo available, if you need to be convinced.
