Chicken Invaders 3, a famous game that was all the rage a decade ago, has been released on Steam for Linux and is now available for purchase with a 10% discount.

Chicken Invaders 3 is a game published and developed by InterAction studios, and it used to be an extremeley popular shoot 'em title. Its time in the spotlight has faded, but now the developers have managed to bring it back to life on Steam, and it seems that the Linux platform is also covered.

"Chickens. For centuries, we have oppressed them, grilling, roasting, stewing, and stuffing them in buns. We should have known the time would come for us to pay. And it did. Intergalactic chickens invaded Earth, seeking revenge for the oppression of their earthly brethren. They came out of nowhere, and everywhere. It was only you who managed to repel the invasion, and saved humanity from an eternity of servitude," reads the Steam synopsis.

This is an old game, so the system requirements for Chicken Invaders 3 are pretty low. Users will need at least a 32-bit Linux OS or a 64-bit Linux OS with 32-bit drivers, 512 MB of RAM, and 170 MB of available space.

The promotion for Chicken Invaders 3 will end on June 15.
