Chaos Reborn, a new kind of turn-based wizard combat game from the designer of XCOM, has landed on Steam for Linux, although for now it's still under development.

The original designer of the XCOM games is Julian Gollop and he is now trying to put his name on a new title called Chaos Reborn, which pits players against each other in magical duels, in a variety of arenas, using a spell deck of various creatures and abilities.

"Planned features include extensive single-player and co-op RPG elements where players can explore the Realms of Chaos fighting Wizard Lords and Kings while collecting artifacts and spells along the way. These Realms can either be procedurally generated or designed by player Wizard Kings. Players will be able to trade items, join Orders (guilds) and ascend social ranks, perhaps to become one of the gods," reads the Steam synopsis.

The game is in the Early Access program and it just landed there, so it's likely that it will remain here for quite some time. It's a complex title and there is a lot of testing to be done. Users will need at least 2 GB of RAM, a video card that supports at least shader model 3, and 1 GB of available space.
