Canonical is very serious about Unity and Mir and the company is now hiring software engineers to fill very specific positions.

The Unity and Mir development efforts made by Canonical are closely tied together. These two technologies will define the future of Ubuntu, but the company also needs very good engineers to make significant progress.

Olli Ries, the director of product strategy engineering from Canonical, has listed four job postings on his blog, three for Unity and one for Mir.

“Besides of all the other exciting things that are going on in Ubuntu-world, this is a one of a kind opportunity. Join the Mir team and be part of a major technology change. The team is set to provide an alternative to X.org – an opportunity and challenge at the same time (they always go hand in hand anyways),” reads the announcement on Olli Ries' blog.

If you think you got what it takes to be a part of the Canonical team, you should check the job listings.
