The update for this problem hasn't been issued yet, but it will arrive soon

Ubuntu developers have finally fixed a very annoying issue that prevented users from importing an .opvn file and that crashed the network manager.

Users started to complain about this problem soon after the launch of Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. It might not seem like a big feature, but the ability to import an .opvn file is actually an important one.

There are some other ways to bypass this problem, from the terminal for example, and you can always set the VPN interface manually from the network manager, but that doesn't change the fact that a bug has managed to slip past the Ubuntu 14.04 LTS launch.

As it turns out, the issue appeared shortly before the launch, back on April 17, and it hasn’t been fixed up until now. This bug is not something indigenous to Ubuntu, because it was actually imported from Debian.

Ubuntu developers have their hands full and they are fixing bugs as soon as possible, but this OpenVPN issue didn't rank too high on their to-do list. After some commotion online, the problem has been corrected and an update is incoming.

One of the regular updates in the next few days will also contain the fix for this issue, so make sure you upgrade your system.
