Squid, a caching proxy for the Web supporting HTTP, HTTPS, and FTP, that helps reduce bandwidth and improve response times by caching and reusing frequently requested web pages, is now at version 3.3.9. Squid 3.3.9 is mainly a maintenance release, but it brings a lot of changes and fixes. Users should upgrade nonetheless.

Highlights of Squid 3.3.9:

• Duplicate certificates are no longer sent when using https_port; • The compatibility with clang and icc has been improved; • The number of available filedescriptors is now shown when the reserved FD changes; • The application has been synced with the newest OpenSSL error codes; • An assert with side effects in ServerStateData::handleAdaptedHeader has been fixed.

A complete list of changes and updates can be found in the official announcement. Download Squid 3.3.9 right now from Softpedia.
