Birdie, a beautiful Twitter client that uses Vala and GTK and is built for elementary OS and Ubuntu, has reached version 0.3.

Birdie 0.3 might not seem like much, but the developers are making great strides and are implementing tons of features with each new version.

“This releases implements a long-awaited feature, threaded conversations, and comes with the usual bug fixes and improvements. Translations have been updated, bugs have been squashed and Birdie's reliability is better than ever.

“We've made Granite optional, so you can enjoy Birdie on more distributions. We've integrated Birdie with the latest Ubuntu versions. Overall, this release has been about polish,” reads the official announcement.

Birdie is still in the development stages, so it's not really in top shape and bugs are to be expected. For example, the notifications don't really work in Ubuntu 13.04.
