Clonezilla Live 2.2.2-3, a Linux distribution based on DRBL, Partclone, and udpcast that allows users to do bare metal backup and recovery, is now available for download and testing.

Clonezilla Live 2.2.2-3 is now the latest development version for this distribution and, besides the regular updates, it also features a new Linux kernel.

“The underlying GNU/Linux operating system was upgraded. This release is based on the Debian Sid repository (as of 2014/Jan/28),” reads the announcement.

According to the changelog, the Linux kernel has been updated to 3.12.8-1, Package drbl has been updated to 2.7.22-drbl1, and Clonezilla has been updated to 3.9.18-drbl1.

Also, the program makeboot.sh has been improved. The directory “/syslinux” on the destination partition should be checked.

Download Clonezilla Live 2.2.2-3 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
