Apache Tomcat, an open source software implementation of the Java Servlet and JavaServer Pages technologies, developed under the Java Community Process, is now at version 7.0.42.

Highlights of Apache Tomcat 7.0.42 (Catalina):

• The FORM authentication is now handled better when requesting a resource as an unauthenticated user; • Support has been added for a JAAS Realm instance to use a dedicated configuration rather than the JVM global JAAS configuration; • The JAR file scanning has been fixed; • The ability to configure the RMI bind address has been added.

A complete list of changes, fixes, and new features can be found in the official changelog.

Download Apache Tomcat 7.0.42 (Catalina) right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a beta version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
