Zbigniew Konojacki, the creator of the 4MLinux series of distributions, has announced recently the immediate availability for download of Antivirus Live CD 12.0, an open source distribution that provides users with a live Linux computing environment built around the popular ClamAV (Clam AntiVirus) virus scanner.

The latest Antivirus Live CD 12.0 release is now based on the recently announced 4MLinux 12.0 Beta operating system and the 0.98.6 version of the ClamAV (Clam AntiVirus) anti-virus software. The Live CD offers an OS independent solution for cleaning computers of viruses and other malware.

“Antivirus Live CD is a 4MLinux fork including the ClamAV scanner,” says Zbigniew Konojacki in the release announcement. “It's designed for users who need a lightweight live CD, which will help them to protect their computers against viruses. The latest version 12.0-0.98.6 is based on 4MLinux 12.0 and ClamAV 0.98.6.”

You can download Antivirus Live CD 12.0 right now from Softpedia. The project is distributed as two Live CD ISO images, one with an offline virus signature database, and a much smaller one that does not contain any virus signatures, but can download them from the Internet.
