Antergos 2014.05.14 RC, a distribution based on Arch Linux that used to go by the name of Cinnarch, has been released and is now ready for testing.

It's been a long time since the Antergos release, but the developers of this interesting distribution have returned with a new version. They are using the latest GNOME 3.12 packages, but they are also working to change the default GNOME look that can be found in the stock release.

“I’m not making any announcement of what is new and what was fixed yet, because things can change (although not so much) from this RC to the final stable release. One thing I can say is that Antergos is partnering with the Numix Project guys to work on a custom theme for our desktops (both GTK and QT). In this RC, you will be able to enjoy some premature advances of this agreement in the form of the icon theme. We’re not sure if the rest of the design will be postponed for next stable release,” said the developer in the release notes.

For now, the new distribution doesn't seem to feature anything of great interest, but that might change after the implementation of the Numix theme.

More details about this release can be found in the official announcement. You can download Antergos 2014.05.14 RC right now from Softpedia.

Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
