Altitude, a 2D aerial combat game with planes developed and published by Nimbly Games on Steam for Linux, is now completely free.

Altitude has been around for quite some time. In fact, it was originally released back in 2008 for the Windows platform and the Linux versions arrived a year ago. It has a single and multiplayer, but the single-player portion of the game is just the player versus the AI.

"Blast your way across the cartoon skies in this fast-paced game of aerial combat. Nimbly Games has crafted an instantly accessible, rewardingly deep, and ravishingly fun multiplayer action game. The sirens have sounded, bogies are coming in hot...," reads the Steam synopsis.

The planes are controlled either with the mouse and keyboard, or with the help of a controller. The system requirements are also very low and most players will be able to run the game without any issues: a 1.0 Ghz processor, 256 MB of memory, a video card with 64 MB of VRAM, and 300 MB of free space on the hard drive.

If you want to play the game, just head over to Steam and download it. There are no special requirements. It's that easy.
