The update also brings a sleuth of updates and changes

Alien Arena, a multiplayer shooter that relates to games like Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament, has just got a massive update.

Alien Arena 7.52 brings changes and updates, but more importantly, it comes with four new maps: Dm-Goregrinder, Dm-Zorn2k11, Ctf-Violator, and Dm-Impact.

Highlight of Alien Arena 7.52:

· New models and textures; · Shadow mapping for vegetation; · Account system for stats; · Stats algorithms have been improved; · Various improved rendering effects; · Decoupled renderer from client frame code; · Anti-camp has also been improved; · Some weapon damages made more consistent; · MOTD can now display time; · Better mouse imput; · Insta-Rocket game mode.

We reviewed Alien Arena a while back and found it to be largely uninteresting. It's not bad, but it's not good either. Even today's update won't change that fact significantly, but any update is better then nothing.
