Absolute, an x86 Linux distribution based upon Slackware that concentrates on making sure that Internet, multimedia, document, and general home use works out of the box, is now at version 14.03.

As expected, the Absolute Linux operating system is designed to be lightweight, to run on older hardware, and to make the interface simple and intuitive.

Highlights of Absolute Linux 14.03:

• "video/webm" has been added to filetypes in the .desktop file; • The webm filetype has been added to defaults.list; • Open file with SMplayer from spacefm is now possible; • Webm has been set to open with SMplayer from Rox-Filer; • The distribution has been recompiled with newer dependencies; • Linux kernel has been updated to version 3.7.1.
