AMD has released the new AMD Catalyst 13.11 Beta 1 video driver for Linux platforms, fixing some pressing issues, but failing to provide adequate support for newer Linux kernels.

AMD Catalyst 13.11 Beta 1 comes with a series of fixes and also provides support for a range of new AMD products. Unfortunately, it doesn’t provide adequate support for newer Linux kernels. The last one supported is 3.10 and they're not even specifying which build.

According to the changelog, a couple of power management fixes have been implemented, and various crashes and hangs have been resolved. There's nothing about gaming or other important interests.

The AMD Catalyst 13.10 Beta 1 video driver offers production support for the following Linux-based operating systems: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.3 and 6.4, Novell SUSE Enterprise Linux 11 SP3, OpenSuSE Linux 11.4 and 12.1, and Ubuntu 12.04.2 and 13.04. Download the ATI/AMD Linux Display Drivers 13.10 Beta 1 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
