The entire Linux distro has received a facelift

4MLinux Media Edition, a special distribution with a wide set of multimedia tools and software, has advanced to version 10.1 and is now ready for download and testing.

All the 4MLinux distros are well known for their small size, and the Media Edition makes no exception despite the fact that it comes with a huge variety of applications that can be used to manage, edit, and play media files. Even if some particular app is not available by default, it can certainly be found in the repositories.

"Lots of changes, which are my response to various feature requests: Qupzilla has now Flash Player support enabled out of the box, Mozilla software (Firefox, SeaMonkey, Thunderbird) use the native Linux build of GTK (not via Wine anymore), and Dropbox is now available as a downloadable extension," says the developer in a blog entry.

He also provides 4MLinux Media Edition as a Live system, so it's pretty easy to run it without having to install. This operating system is still in development, which means that it's still unstable and that changes and fixes are still left to be made. If you really want to install it, you can wait for a few weeks until the stable version of 4MLinux Media Edition is released.

You can download 4MLinux Media Edition 10.1 Beta right now from Softpedia.
