4MLinux Allinone Edition 10.1 Beta, a Linux distro that encompasses multiple tools for Maintenance (system rescue Live CD), Multimedia (e.g. playing video DVDs), Miniserver (using the inetd daemon), and Mystery (Linux games) is now available for download and testing.

The 4MLinux distros are among the smallest ones in the world that still retain regular desktop functionality and all the amenities that you would normally find in an operating system five times its size.

In the case of 4MLinux, things are a little bit different. The developer has several editions of the OS and each one is focused on one particular aspect. On top of all of those versions, he also has an Allinone edition that comes with all of the tools. It's bigger that all of the other ones, but it's also a complete distro.

"This release has Wine 1.7.29, which is able to run Mozilla software (Firefox 32.0, SeaMonkey 2.29.1, and Thunderbird 31.2.0) with Flash Player 15 support enabled. 4MLinux Printing Suite (CUPS 2.0.0, SANE 1.0.24, Xpdf 3.0.4, Ghostscript 9.14) and 4MLinux QtPack (Qt 4.8.6 and 5.3.2, QupZilla Git-2014-09-16, SMplayer with SMTube SVN r6393) are also included. FTP (WinSCP 5.5.5), IRC (Irssi 0.8.17rc1, XChat 2.8.9), P2P (rTorrent 0.9.4, eMule 0.50a), and SSH (PuTTY 0.63) clients are available, too. The size of the ISO image is about 154 MB," says the developer.

The development cycle for 4MLinux is not very long, so a final version of the distro should arrive in a few weeks’ time. Meanwhile, you can download 4MLinux Allinone Edition 10.1 Beta from Softpedia and give it a spin. It's a Live CD and it should work just fine in VirtualBox.
